Transition year class worked together on a group painting. Students were challenged to make drawings of the falls river & rapids beside the school from memory, creating abstract interpretations of what they could see in their minds eye. Students combined elements of their drawings to come together to create a group painting. Students looked to David Hockney's approach to landscape painting. The result was an abstract expressive painting with many layers of vivid colors & brush strokes that ultimately represented how the students navigated working together to interpret their natural surroundings
